Echo and Narcissus is Beau Carey's newest work through which dreamlike metaphors depict humanity's struggle to harness nature. These small to large scale oil paintings strike a curious balance between beauty and unease: a square lake in the bottom of a Rothko-field filled sky of endlessly shifting grays and transparent color passages. Carey's work is a product of his exuberance and lust for life, it is extremely engaging and contemplative because it's unassuming, stripped back container is surprisingly alive and real.

Beau Carey received his MFA at the University of New Mexico. He currently resides in Denver and is also a 2 year resident artist at Redline Denver.

This show opens with the artist this Friday September 3rd from 6-9pm and will hang until September 29th.
